Who we are, our history
The Potter's House Christian Centre was started up under the name of Christian Fellowship Ministries (CFM) in 1985 by it's founder Pastor Waymen Mitchell.
The Potter's House experience good growth during a revival that touched the then little church in Prescott, Arizona. The 'Jesus Movement' was sweeping America and multitudes of young people were being profoundly saved and converted to Christ. while many of the traditional churches closed there doors to the long haired, denim clad 'hippies', Pastor Waymen Mitchell received them with open arms.
Pastor Mitchell's solid grounding in the Word of God and his passion to take the Gospel into all the world was soon imparted into the hearts of many zealous new converts, in a short few years, several young couples were launched surrounding cities to pioneer new churches.
In 1978, one of these couples was sent to Perth to begin a new church, following the pattern that had been set in Prescott Arizona. From the beginning the emphasis was Evangelism, Discipleship, Church Planting and World Evangelism.
25 years later that one church planted into Perth has in turn planted dozens of couples that have planted 130 churches into 18 countries of the world including Walthamstow England.
Potter's House Luton was pioneered by a couple that was sent out of Potter's House in Walthamstow it's mother church. Potter's House Luton is a multicultural church that it's members love Jesus and it's aim is to fulfil the great commission.
